Hello Everyone!

I’m Richard, born on a beautiful spring day, April 1st, 1967, in the vibrant city of Hilversum, Netherlands. My journey with running began around the age of 13. It wasn’t love at first sight—in fact, it was more of a ‘must-do’ on my mother’s advice, to burn off some excess energy.

Until one morning, after years of unhealthy living, I found myself staring into a mirror at a reflection I no longer recognized. In that decisive moment, I knew it was time for a change.

This change started with a simple phrase I read: “To heal is to make happy. I have told you to think how many opportunities you have had to gladden yourself, and how many you have refused. This is the same as telling you that you have refused to heal yourself.” Immediately after reading this phrase, the most gentle voice I’ve ever heard asked, “Are you willing to make happy?” The only way I knew how was with the help of my old friend, running. And so I began my journey toward a healthier life.

Over the years, running became so much more than just physical exercise. It became a way to listen to that comforting inner voice that helped me and taught me to trust my intuition. This process ultimately led to what is now officially known as Intuitive Running.

Through Intuitive Running, I combine my passion for running with the wisdom and guidance of my inner voice. It’s not only a way to keep my mind and body healthy, but also a way to fuel my creativity and ambitions.

Having experienced my own transformation, as well as witnessing that of close friends and family, I decided to share this knowledge and experience with others through (online) courses, coaching, and workshops. Not only because I truly believe that everyone has the potential to transform their life through happiness, but also because everyone deserves to grasp the opportunities to gladden themselves.

Simply by listening to your inner voice and moving in a way that feels good, completely in tune with your personal situation and circumstances.

Although I saw running as a necessary evil in my younger years, it slowly grew into a cherished companion. It has not only kept me physically fit but has also provided me with an escape from stress and the routines of everyday life. But more than that, it has become a way to reconnect deeply with my True Self. By combining movement, heart rate, and the wisdom of that gentle guidance from my inner voice, I realized that running could be so much more than just exercise—it could be a path to healing, joy, and inner peace.

This realization is what ultimately gave birth to Intuitive Running—a practice where movement and intuition work hand in hand, guiding you toward a life of optimal health, creativity, and happiness.
